In that era, fine porcelain was decorated with gold specifically to increase the value of the pieces and place them in the luxury porcelain category. The porcelain is as fine as silk, thin and light, and ivory-colored. The cup has a wide, footed bowl shape. While the inside of the cup is richly decorated with gold and multicolored floral bouquets, the outside is decorated with embossed elements, also incorporating small floral formations from the bouquets on the inside. The saucer combines the two types of decoration, with wavy edges and gold trim.
